FAQ’s For Insulation & Coatings » In Kirtland, NM
Sherwood Foam Insulation and Coatings receives many insulation frequently asked questions, along with questions about our roofing and ditch services. We want to share some of these questions and answers to help you during your next construction project.
How do I choose the correct insulation for the job?
One important way to choose the correct insulation is by temperature of the area—low which is up to 60 degrees, medium, which is 61 to 600 degrees, or high, which is 600 to 1500 degrees. The different functions determine the temperature from cold water, commercial heating, and cooling to pipes, oven, stacks, power generation, and exhaust systems.
How does insulation control sound?
Sound attenuation limits sound propagation from one area to another by encasing the noise generating source and forming a barrier. This is useful for obnoxious noise levels from machines, plant area noise, and other working conditions.
What areas of my home should be insulated?
In addition to attics and outside walls, insulation should be installed in ceilings, basement walls, floors above crawl spaces, cathedral ceilings, and interior walls.
How do I know if I need a new roof?
There are a few major signs that you need to replace your roof. This includes missing or cracked shingles, blistering paint, siding decay, leaks, stains on interior walls, and high energy bills.
How often should I clean my gutters and other drainage system parts?
Sherwood Foam Insulation and Coatings recommends you clean them at least three times per year.
How long does a typical roof replacement take?
It can be as short as a few days to 2 weeks or more. The time is affected by the weather as well.
Do I need to do anything to prepare my yard for ditch breaking?
No, our machines are ready to dig on any type of soil in Pagosa Springs without any preparation by the owner of the property.
How do I know if I need a bigger, better, or new ditch?
If your yard or business property floods after a thunderstorm, you noticing soil erosion, leaves and debris are washing up on your lawn, or your ditches look full, call us and we can evaluate what we can do to provide a ditch that will work better for you. We can modify, create, or repair ditches.
